Monica Mulholland, Ph.D. (she/her)

A lifelong educator, RYT-500 Yoga and Meditation Teacher, and Qigong practitioner

Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here!

I’m a body–movement specialist with a focus on people in their wisdom years — 45 and beyond. My work is rooted in compassion, accessibility, and inclusion. I strive to create spaces — in person and online — where people of all identities, body experiences, and backgrounds feel welcome, seen, and supported.

Having struggled to fit into typical yoga studios, I know what it’s like to live in a body that isn’t super flexible, strong, or perfectly balanced. I move through countless physical limitations myself — and that lived experience has shaped how I teach. My classes honor real bodies and real life, meeting you exactly where you are, without pressure or comparison.

My approach integrates Yoga, gentle strength conditioning, and Qigong to help you move with ease, build resilience, and cultivate inner calm. Each class supports bone health, balance, and vitality, blending mindful movement with breath and relaxation. You’ll gain practical strength for daily life while restoring harmony between body and mind.

This isn’t about striving or pushing harder — it’s about moving intelligently, honoring your body’s wisdom, and cultivating energy that sustains you through every season of life.

Join me to rediscover how strong, capable, and radiant you already are. Your first class is free — and your first month, half off.

Sample Warm-up

I’ve been part of Monica’s gentle yoga Zoom class for several years, and it’s truly a gem. Monica brings not only immense expertise but also so much love and generosity into each session. She’s constantly learning and evolving—integrating new practices like yin yoga, qigong, and fresh mantras or mudras—so there’s always something new to explore. She often asks us what we’d like to focus on, showing how much she cares about everyone’s experience. I especially love the final part of each class with relaxation, sound meditation, or a calming closing practice that sets a peaceful tone for the rest of the day. I highly recommend any woman of any age to join our special group on Mondays and Wednesdays!

I’m dedicated to helping people engage and relax their body and mind. I hold a Ph.D. in Spanish Literature and am a Registered Yoga Teacher (500-hour). My lifelong passion for learning has inspired me to complete over 2000 hours of Yoga, Meditation, and Qigong Teacher Training, continually exploring new ways to foster growth and share timeless wisdom.

Qigong — an ancient Chinese healing art that blends gentle movement, breath, and awareness — has become a natural complement to my Yoga and Meditation teachings. Together, these practices cultivate balance, vitality, and inner calm.

Through my distinctive methodology, I offer:

Gentle Yoga & Qigong — A compassionate and effective approach to stretching, balance, and strength-building

Meditation & Mindful Breathing — Tools to calm the mind and expand self-awareness

True Vitality Comes from Within

Over the years, I’ve been honored to learn from teachers who embodied quiet strength — people whose power wasn’t in appearance, but in presence.
They moved with ease, breathed with awareness, and met life’s changes with grace.

Their example taught me that true vitality isn’t about perfection or performance.
It’s about connection — to breath, to balance, and to the living energy that moves through us all.

That is the heart of Yoga and Qigong: a lifelong path of learning, humility, and renewal.

I’d love to help you fall in love with your body & your mind (again)!

I teach from my own embodied experience:

  • I have a Ph.D. in the Humanities, which means I’ve been sitting at my computer most of my adult life.

  • I’ve always loved my profession, but my body got stiffer and stiffer as the years went by.

  • I’ve experienced chronic respiratory conditions, headaches, insomnia, and anxiety.

  • Yoga, Qigong, and Mindfulness have helped me cultivate tools to heal in a natural way.

  • Living with osteoporosis has become a pathway to deeper understanding—one I now walk with others, step by mindful step. At 63, I feel more grounded and stronger than ever before.

Live Online Yoga & Qigong

Mondays & Wednesdays 5-6 pm MST

Join our Yoga & Qigong Online Circle — a nourishing blend of Yoga, Qigong, Restorative Poses, and Sound Bath.
Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) is an ancient Chinese healing practice that combines gentle movement, breath, and focused awareness to cultivate life energy (Qi) and restore harmony within the body and mind.

This class weaves Qigong’s flowing sequences with Yoga’s mindful postures and Restorative relaxation to create a compassionate and deeply balancing experience. Movements are slow and intentional, inviting you to release tension, improve posture, and awaken your natural vitality.

Our approach honors the interconnectedness of body, mind, and spirit — promoting whole-person wellness rather than just physical fitness.
